HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful evening and I'll see you next year.

A small sale haul. I did find a bargain (at least I think so).

I went bargain hunting the other day to see if there were any makeup and skincare bargains to find during the sale. There is always a big sale here in Sweden between Christmas and New Year and if you are lucky you can find some good deals.
I didn't find any nice makeup on sale but I wasn't in the mood for buying makeup anyway since I got some really nice things for Christmas. I did however find a couple of skincare items from Clarins on sale, the Cleansing Trio Gift Set for normal to dry skin and the Beauty Flash Balm.

The Cleansing trio did cost 95 SEK and for this I got a 100ml bottle of Cleansing Milk, 100 ml bottle of Toning Lotion and a 30 ml bottle of Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover Lotion. I think this is a great way to try their cleansing products for a reasonable price and the bottles were quite large as well. I am especially excited about the toner since it is alcohol free. Alcohol in toners are one thing that my skin hates since it is very drying.

The Beauty Flash Balm was 195SEK instead of 365SEk so it was a good price but still a little bit expensive for what you get since the tube is quite small, only 50 ml.

To be honest I don't really know what the Beauty Flash Balm is good for. It says on the packaging that it is supposed to be a instant radiance booster and it is supposed to give you a softer, smoother healthier looking complexion. It does however feel like a rather thick moisturizer so I am excited to see if it keeps what it promises.
Have you tried the Beauty Flash Balm from Clarins? If so please leave a comment and tell me what you think about it and how you use it. I am really lost here :)

I didn't buy anything else during the sale but I am happy with the things that I got.
I have been a rather good girl in December and haven't bought a lot of makeup. I do think this will change in January since the Love Lace and the Warm & Cozy Collections from MAC will be released here in Sweden . There are definitively some things from these two collections that I have my eyes on.

LOTD: Chanel

Here is a picture of the lipgloss from Chanel that I got this Christmas from my brother. It is an Aqualumiére Gloss in the color 67 Diamond Rose.

I have to say that I love this gloss. It is a very wearable pink with shimmer in it. It looks like it is packed with lots of small glitters. The shimmer stays put on the lips and gives them a nice sheen.
As far as stickiness goes, it isn't sticky at all. It feels very soft on the lips. It doesn't have a scent, which for me is a good thing. I hate when lip products have strong scents since it can be rather distracting to have a strong scent near the nose.

I think that this may be the start on a small Chanel obsession.

A Beautiful Christmas

I hope you had a great Christmas with lots of joy and good food. I had a great Christmas and celebrated it with my family.

I have a wonderful family who always seems to know what I want for Christmas. They gave me some beauty related things this Christmas. It is always nice when your family understands your interest in beauty and cosmetics.

My brother ventured to the Chanel counter and gave me a lipgloss and a nail polish. I have never tried Chanel before and I really loved the colors and the quality. I received a Aqualumière Gloss in 67 Diamond Rose and a nail color in 495 Mica Rose.

My mom and dad went to the Estée Lauder counter and I received two Christmas gift pack. It was a kit from Estée Lauder that started my little obsession in cosmetics a couple of years ago. I like this brand a lot because they always put together great kits with very wearable colors.
The first kit included a evening clutch and of course makeup.

The second kit was a perfume gift pack in a really nice makeup bag. The gift set contains four perfumes; Beautiful, Sensuous, Pleasures and Pure White Linen. I haven't had time to try them out properly but I have already fallen for one of the perfumes, Pure White Linen.

I did get some other presents as well and I loved them all. So a big thank you and hugs to my wonderful family who brings me so much love and happiness in my life.

Frost and Daylight Madonna

Saturday was a beautiful day. It has been raining a lot lately and the weather has been quite awful but this day was a winter day. It was below zero degrees Celsius and there was night frost on the trees. I was going Christmas shopping and on the bus the window was covered with ice crystals. I managed to take a photo of it with my cell phone.

I was in a great Christmas mood and first I wanted to wear holiday colors like gold and cranberry on my eyes. But the cold inspired me to bring out the Ready-To-Wear Makeup Clutch For Eyes And Lips in 001 Daylight Madonna from Christian Dior (long name there). It contains light pastel colors in pink and gray and the colors are on the cold side, almost like the colors an ice queen would wear.

I think that this is the most luxurious palette that I own. I bought the palette this summer at a sale in NK, a luxury department store here in Sweden. I got it for 50% off so I got it for a reasonable price.
I am glad though that I got it on sale and didn't pay full price for it. The colors are light and for me a little bit on the chalky side. The thing that I don't like is that it's hard to distinguish between the colors when they are on the lid. For an expensive line like Christian Dior I expect more that this to be honest.

Here is a picture of the eye makeup that I wore. You can't see the colors that well and that's my point. I used three colors on the lid but it is impossible to see. I mixed the color on the far left of the palette with Wedge e/s from MAC and used it in the crease so that there would be somewhat more of a difference in color from the lid.

This is what I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base
MUS eye pencil in Snowflake to brighten the inner corner of the eye.
Christian Dior palette mention above on lid and in the crease
Wedge e/s from MAC in the crease
Brulé e/s from MAC as a highlight on the browbone
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in 1999 as an eyeliner.
Imju Fiberwig Mascara

Christmas Party Bath Bomb from LUSH

I have started to work through my LUSH stash and I decided it was time to review the Christmas Party Bath Bomb from LUSH. This bath bomb contains orange, lime and cognac oil and LUSH describes this as a Mimosa (the Champagne drink not the flower) scented bath bomb. I don't know how a Mimosa smells but I like the scent of this one. It is a citrus scent not in your face citrus like Whoosh Shower Jelly but a nice sweet citrus scent. So the scent gets a plus from me.
But here's the thing that I don't like about this bath bomb, it has glitter stars and confetti in it. I thought it would float nicely on top of the water but most of them end up on the bottom of the tub. For me it took more time to drain the tub and avoid letting the stars out of the tub and into the pipes (I was afraid that the stars would cause a stop).
The bath bomb turns the water a into a light yellow color and it stained my bathtub. I ended up with a light yellow line around the inside of the tub, but it wasn't hard to remove, so I can live with that.

Would I buy this again? No, I liked the scent but I hated the stars. I don't think they contribute much to the bath since they end up on the bottom of the tub. It was also hard to drain the tub without letting the stars out.

Redken Real Control

Review time! As I mentioned in the previous post I have been testing a shampoo and conditioner from Redken for two weeks. I bought the products by myself from the UK website HQhair.com. It has been almost two weeks now and I did my last wash for the test yesterday and I am now ready for the review.
The shampoo and conditioner that I have used belong to the Real Control line from Redken and according to the text on the bottle it is supposed to give nourishing care for dense/dry/sensitized hair. The shampoo and conditioner contain Shea Butter and is safe for color treated hair.

This is the description on the back of the bottle:
Real Control shampoo gently cleanses and moisturizes dense, dry, sensitized hair. Formulated with Redken's exclusive Interbond Conditioning System and Care Adjust Complex, it provides nourishing, smoothing control and strengthening care. Hair texture feels transformed with increased manageability and shine....

The important thing to me is that a product lives up to its description. Does it really do all the things that the text promises? Yes and no in this case but more on that later.

First things first, the description of my hair type. My hair is dry, wavy to curly (depending on the hair cut) and color treated (right now dark brown). It is very hard to control and style since my hair consists of rather thick strands of hair and I have lots of flyaway hairs that form a halo around my hair. It has a tendency to become static and ends up in the face and I usually keep my hair pulled back in a ponytail.

The shampoo and conditioner makes my hair feel soft to the touch and gives it shine. It is not a lot of shine but enough to keep it looking healthy. After I have washed my hair it is easy to comb through and detangle. But it feels like it is hard to rinse out the conditioner, it sort of sticks to the hands and to my hair. However once my hair has dried I can't feel any residue from the conditioner in my hair. It also leaves my hair feeling clean longer than other products that I have used recently and I can't feel any build up of product in my hair.
The one thing that I feel is a negative with the shampoo and conditioner is that my hair feels very light and airy. This gives the hair a tendency to become a little bit poofy at times. It hasn't affected me much since I have it in a ponytail but could become a problem if it wasn't pulled back.

As far as adding moisture to the hair I don't think these products compare to the Hydratherapie line from the Matrix Biolage range. This line really adds moisture to the hair but I have to use it sparingly since long use can make the hair feel a little bit greasy. The Real Control product do give the hair enough moisture to make it feel soft.

Do the product live up to what they claim. Yes and No. I think that they make the hair easy to control in the way they make it easy to comb through and detangle. But the fact that it makes my hair feel very light and airy may cause a problem when not wearing it in a ponytail.

Would I buy this again? Yes I would, but I think that it is way to expensive here in Sweden for what you get. The shampoo costs about 280 SEK and the conditioner 310 SEK at Bellbox. I bought mine from the UK and so I didn't spend that much.

One last note, I think that these products are aimed for thicker/coarse hair so if you have fine hair you should be careful. I don't know how finer hair reacts to these products.

Time for some Excuses.....

...and an update.

First the excuse:
There isn't much action here on this blog at the moment. This is caused by me working rather long days at work. I have some new responsibilities at work and therefore a new schedule. When I am finally at home I am so tired and there is much energy left for blogging. I hope to be back in action soon. I just have to get used to the new schedule and make a new routine.

Then the update:

I have started a small change in my hair routine. I am going to review a shampoo and conditioner from Redken. So I have a small experiment going on. For two weeks the only things that I will use on my hair are the shampoo and conditioner, I will not use any other product. I am hoping that this will give me an idea of how the products work on my hair. So no styling product in my hair for two weeks.

I am also on a little break from shopping more makeup. No more MAC for 2009. I think that my collection is growing faster than I use the products so this is going to be a time for rediscovering forgotten products. Hopefully I will hit the pan on some products too.

I am also on a break from LUSH, this will probably be a rather long break though. I hope to finish up the products that I own, and that's a lot. But I will review the products that I have used. So look out for those.

I hope it won't be too long before I have some more energy and can start posting here again. I have a few ideas on some posts and some more attempts on EOTDs coming up.

Sand Storm and Aura

The lip pencil in the color Sand Storm from Make Up Store is one of my favorite items in my lip product collection. It is a nude beige color with a small amount of shimmer in it. It works very well when it comes to toning down the natural lip color and I use it under lip glosses that are light pink ore more nude in color.

The consistency is very creamy and you can paint the whole lip in this color just as I have on the picture above.

One of my favorite combinations is Sand Storm and Aura a Lip Enhancing Gloss (Full Color) from Smashbox. This is close in color to Sand Storm just a bit more pink. Aura is a nude pink color with lots of shimmer. I wonder if it is the shimmer in this gloss that is supposed to be the Lip Enhancing effect? It probably is...

Together these two make a nice nude lip.

Young Punk and Black Greasepaint EOTD

The picture was taken without flash.

I haven't put on much eye makeup lately due to very early mornings and to be honest I prefer to sleep in the mornings rather than get up and put on makeup. So I have been sporting a natural look all week until now that is. I decided to try out my MAC Greasepaint in Black and the eye shadow Young Punk from MAC to see if I could make a glittery eyeliner out of them. These two was released in the Style Black collection.

Picture taken with flash.

For this I used:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base
MAC e/s in Wedge applied lightly in the crease and up towards the brow bone.
Make Up Store (MUS) Microshadow (m/s) in Moscow on the lid.
MUS m/s in Sibiria on the inner part of the lid and on the inner and under part of the lower lashline.
MAC e/s in Brulé as a highlight.

MAC Greasepaint stick in Black was used as a liner on the upper lid.
MAC Mineralize e/s in Young Punk on top of the Greasepaint applied with a wet thin brush. I also used Young Punk dry under the lower lash line.
MAC Fix+ to wet the brush.

Mascara: Imju Fiberwig, Paint-on False Lashes

Isadora Eye Brow Lift and Define (dual pencil) to fill in the brows and highlight the brow bone. The last thing didn't work well at all, which can be seen on the picture taken with flash. It was impossible to blend out.

Santas Rice Porridge, a small ramble.

I have just tried it had felt so excited that I felt like writing a post about it. This is not a full review since I used it about an hour ago. So this is my initial reaction to it.

The first thing I have to say to you is that I have never used a fresh face mask from LUSH before so I didn't know what to expect.

The first thing I did was that I ventured in to my kitchen and pulled out the mask from the fridge. Then what? I have no idea how to use this thing and there are no instructions on the jar. The sales person in the store said to leave it on my face for five minutes and that's all I know.

So I cleaned my face first and left my face a little damp so that the mask could adhere to my skin. Here's where I ran in to trouble. The face mask is very thick and has large chunks of dried cranberries in it. I couldn't spread it out evenly on my skin so I ended up with chunks of mask on my face and in my sink. I tried to wet it a little and this seemed to help.
I left it on my face for five minutes and then as I was washing it off, I massaged my skin to get the exfoliating effect of the ground almonds in the mask. After this I used a toner, the Breath of Fresh Air one from LUSH and then applied my moisturizer, Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief from Clinique.

Now my face feels so smooth and it is glowing. My face looks a lot smoother and I have to say that I like it. I looked a little red from the exfoliation at first but it is now settling and I am left with smooth and nice looking skin.
Since I have just tried it and this is my initial reactions to it, I don't know how my skin will react to it and if the effect will last or if it will break me out. Time will tell though. Of course I will tell you if this happens.

One last thing, as with some of the products that LUSH makes this one is very messy to use. I also think that you should be careful so that you that you don't clog the sink.

For ingredients and more information and prices go to the LUSH website and check it out.

Christmas at LUSH: The Haul

The Christmas collection at LUSH has arrived here in Sweden and since I am a huge fan of LUSH I had to check it out. For me personally I think it is way to early to start selling Christmas products in the beginning of November but I couldn't resist and I picked up a couple of things. Since I own so many LUSH things now I will not visit a LUSH store for some time. I want to finish using up the things that I have now.

So here's the rundown of what I got. All the things belong to the Christmas collection.

Bubble Bars:
I bought all of the three available bubble bars.
Tomteskum: This one has a different name in different countries. In the UK it is known as Wee Harry and in the US it is called Gnome Name.
Christams Eve: A blue bubble bar with a floral scent.
Ruby Red Slippers: A sparkling red bubble bar. I think this one was inspired by the Wizars of Oz.

Bath Bombs:I bought four of the bath bombs:
So White: This one contains pieces of bubble bars in it and it smells of apple. I liked this one so much that I bought two.
Cinders: This yellow bath bomb has more of a spicy and orange scent and it contains fizzy candy. I have to admit that I fell for the candy part.
Christmas Party: A Mimosa (the Champagne drink not the flower) scented bath bomb. I loved the smell of this one. It has some glitter stars and confetti in it, this isn't something that I love in bath bombs though.

Satsuma Santa: A giant bath bomb shaped like Santa. This one has a citrus scent and it smells so good.

Soaps:

There was only two of the soaps available in the store. It was missing the Angels Delight soap.
Snowcake: The LUSH Classic. This one has been raved about so much that I had to get it to see what all the hype was about. I think it looks boring, just a plain white but it smell quite good, a sweet and almond kind of scent.
Father Frost: A beautiful blue soap with a fruity floral scent.

Santas Porridge
The Sales Assistant in the store showed me this one. I haven't tried any of the fresh masks from LUSH, but I have been very curious about them. I couldn't resist this one it smells good and it was inspired by the Swedish porridge "risgrynsgrot". It contains almonds and dried cranberries and lots of other good stuff .

On my lips: Smashbox Doubletake Lip Color in Sugar Spice

This was actually on my lips yesterday so I decided to drop the LOTD in the title. The Doubletake Lip Color from Smashbox comes in the form of a pen. The pen has two sides and it contains a lip liner and a lip color. This is in the color "Sugar Spice"and according to Beuty411 this is the color that "Sookie Stackhouse" wears in True Blood Season 2. They call it the Smashbox Reign Doubletake Lip Color but "Sugar Spice" is not available in this line, so it can be a different color that the makeup artist uses.

The color of the liner is described as a spiced brown on the Smashbox website and the color part as a soft rosy brown. I can't see much of a difference in the two colors.
I am not to fond of this one. It is a nice neutral color but too dark for me. I have taken a photo with half of my lips painted to give you a better idea of how much darker it is than my lip color.

I also think it emphasizes the dryness of my lips and all the lines show up. I don't think you can see this on the picture but it doesn't apply evenly. Small flakes of color ends up on my lips. Of the two sides I prefer the lip liner color. It is a nice color and easy to apply and it works with some of the lipsticks that I own.

After I had taken this pictures I actually decided that my lips were way to dark so I blotted some of the color off with a tissue and applied my Korres Lip Butter in "Jasmine" over it. This made it in to a nice neutral color and a softer look.

Paradise EOTD

I decided to try to bring you an EOTD. I am not a trained makeup artist and eye makeup isn't a huge talent of mine. But I decided to give it a go anyway. I tried to make an eye makeup with a pop of color that is wearable for everyday.

The focus on this makeup was the Cybershadow in Paradise from Make Up Store (MUS). This is a beautiful light shimmery green.
For this makeup I used:

On the lid
Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base
MUS Cybershadow in Paradise on the inner part of the lid.
MAC pigment in Antique Green on the outer part of the lid.
MAC e/s in Carbon to darken the outer most part of the lid.
Isadora Palette in 50 Matte Chocolates the next lightest color from the crease up to brow bone.

Isadora Palette in 61 Golden Sunset the highlight color as a highlight under brow bone and inner corner of the eye.

Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in 061 Jet Black

Under the eye:
MAC pigment in Antique Green
MAC pigment in Golden Olive
MUS Cybershadow in Paradise
MUS Mixing Liquid

Mascara: L'Oréal Telescopic Explosion in Black

My LUSH Haul (finally)

As I mentioned in my previous post I did some shopping at LUSH. My goal was to check out the Halloween stuff but I came home with some other things from the permanent line as well.

First the Halloween stuff. I bought two things from the Halloween Line. I didn't buy the "Jacko Bath Bomb" since I thought it reminded me of toothpaste.

The "Ghost Shower Gel" was a must for me. I have heard so many good reviews from last year and I had to check it out. The scent is floral and the shower gel smells of lilies. It is not the most unique scent, it reminds me of the standard soap scent, but I like it. It is a nice break from LUSH's more unique scents.

The other thing I got was the "Want To Believe Bath Melt". This reminds me of a piece of coal with glitter on top. It has a rather strange scent, which has a hint of liquorice in it. It may be the fennel or starflower oil that causes this. I look forward to see how this reacts with the water and if it will turn the water a dark gray color.

The store I went too had started to sell the "Snow Fairy shower gel". I bought the smallest size to see if I like it because it has a very sweet candy smell. The thing that I reacted to was that it is just an ordinary shower gel, with no extra ingredients, except for some glitter.

I also bought two body butters, The "Aqua Mirabilis" and "The Soft Touch". I bought the "Aqua Mirabilis" since I hope it will less abrasive than "Buffy". I like "Buffy" a lot but it is way too abrasive for me.

"The Soft Touch" is used on the hands. You rub it between your hands and it melts and moisturizes the skin. I have to admit that I bought this to get the tin for free. But I think this will come in handy. It doesn't have a very strong scent which for me is a good thing when it is used on the hands.

I picked up the "Amandopondo Bubble Bar". I liked its floral scent and it looked nice. It wasn't really a necessary buy since I have some bubble bars left. But they are very sweet and candy like in their scent and I wanted something more floral.

The last thing that I picked up was the "Vanilla In The Mist Soap". The picture doesn't do it justice. My piece lacked the vanilla pods so it looks kind of boring. But it smells really good. It has a vanilla scent to it but it isn't to sweet more of a dessert scent.

A small LUSH haul coming soon

I did some shopping yesterday. LUSH was my goal for this little trip. I received a newsletter saying that their Halloween stuff had arrived this week. Since I finish work early on Fridays I thought it was the perfect day to go and check it out. The weather is really bad here today and it is very dark outside so I am not able to take any decent photos of the things that I bought. This means that I will post my haul a little bit later. Hopefully tomorrow. But I thought I could write a little about the Halloween products now to give you an idea of the products.

The Halloween products differ from the ones in USA and in the UK. "The Great Pumpkin Soap" and the "Cobweb bath bomb" weren't released here in Sweden instead we were able to buy "Want to Believe" Bath Melt instead. If I'm not mistaken this is part of the holiday line in the other countries. "The Jacko bath bomb" is being sold but I didn't like the scent of this one. It looks cute but I thought it smelled like toothpaste with some holiday spices in it. Not something that I would like to bathe in.

If you are a fan of Snow Fairy Shower Gel and you want to buy it before December you're in luck. This shower gel is released before the Holiday products and are available in stores now.

Hi there!

I haven't been posting on this blog for a couple of days. The reason for this is because I have been away on a little work trip. I haven't been near a computer and I haven't even been watching TV ( this is a big thing for me). When I came home I was way too tired to think about my blog. But I am back now and I can be near my computer (and my TV) again.

I have come to the realization that this blog thing that I have started has created some different problems that I have never encountered before. Nowadays I have been obsessing over the weather. Sunny fall days means good lighting for photography. But usually I am facing dark and rainy fall days.

I have to remember to take photos of products before I use them. This is my main problem at the moment because I start to use the product. Suddenly I remember that I need a photo of it for my review. Well some loud curses may slip out from my mouth at that time.

I have to come up with things to write about. This is way harder than I thought. Thankfully I haven't encountered a writer's block yet. I have been near one but it didn't hit me.

I have to say that I admire people who blog. There are so many talented people out there who do a fantastic job. I have learned so much about makeup from blogs and found so much inspiration from fashion and beauty blogs.

It is harder than I thought to combine work with this hobby. So much to write about but so little time. But I found it is worth it. It is so much fun to write about my hobby and hopefully be able to share it with other enthusiasts out there in the world.

LOTD: Estée Lauder's Crystal Pink

Here's another lip of the day or LOTD as it's called in the blog world. I know. You may be wondering were the eye of the day or the EOTD is. The answer is quite simple, I am not good at the whole creative eye makeup thing and I am lousy at taking photos of the eye make up. It doesn't come out nice at all. I am hoping that I can give you an attempt of a EOTD in the future. I just have to practice with the camera first.

Back to the LOTD. This lipstick is one of the first in my collection. I received it in a christmas gift set a while ago from my mom and I can honestly say this set is was started the makeup obsession that I suffer from. I love these Pure Color Crystal Lipsticks from Estée Lauder. This is in the color Crystal Pink 303. It is a very wearable pink that is an excellent every day color.

Some Shopping

I checked out the new MAC collections today as I mentioned in the earlier post. My first impression of the collections was very good. I liked them a lot and there was a lot to choose from.

I skipped the lipsticks from DSquared2, the Nude Rose looked a little bit boring to me. I liked the other one, Blood Red but I couldn't see myself wearing it. Even though it was a sheer color it was still too dark for me. The only thing that I picked up from that collection was the Feline Kohl Power Eye Pencil. This was a must have for me.

From top to bottom: Mineralize Eye Shadow in Young Punk, Feline Kohl Power Eye Pencil and Greasepaint Stick in Black.

I also looked at the Mineralized eye shadows and they were absolutely beautiful. I picked up the purple one, Young Punk. Used dry the pigmentation is really poor but I tried it on the Greasepaint and liked how it looked. I tried to swatch it for you but it was very hard to capture the eyeshadow and the sparkling glitter. Well to be honest the swatches are horrible, not really my forte.

From left to right: Young Punk (Dry), Greasepaint in Black, Young Punk over Greasepaint and on the far left Feline Kohl Power Pencil.

I also bought the Greasepaint in Black. I was surprised to see purple glitter in it. I thought it was a solid black. I think it will work as a good base for eye shadows. Definitely as a base for the mineralize ones. But I think my main use for this will be as a eye liner with Young Punk over it.

A superficial dilemma.

Today is the 15th of October and it is time for the release of some collections from MAC. Here in Sweden collections from MAC are coming out on the 15th of every month. Since they are only released once every month they are gathered up and several collections are released at the same time. This time Style Black, DSquared2 and the Dazzleglass Cremes Collections are coming out at the same time.

So what's my superficial dilemma? Well, there is only two collections this fall that I am interested in, the Style Black and the DSquared2 Collections. I thought that the DSquared2 one was coming out in November and made a budget for this, one purchase in October and one in November and now I have to rethink everything.
I know this is not a real problem. There are far worse problems facing people in the world everyday. But this is a superficial blog so there is always room for some trivial and superficial problems here.

So this is what I am interested in:

The Greasepaint Stick in Black. I am thinking this will be a good dark base for some of my eye shadows. I don't own a dark base yet. I also think it will be a good eyeliner.

The Mineralize eye shadows from Style Black. I have seen swatches of these and they look stunning on top of the Greasepaint. They are really expensive so I have to limit myself and only get one of them.

The #214 Brush. I missed this one when it was released last time. It seems to be a really good brush.

The two lipsticks from DSquared2. Both Nude Rose and Blood Red look beautiful on swatches on the internet. I think I have to see these in real life before making a decision.

The Feline Kohl Power. This is a must for me. I don't own a good black eye pencil yet. This seems to be a true dark black.

I have never been fond of the Dazzleglasses and I will skip the Dazzleglass Cremes collection. I think they are too expensive for what you get.

Some new things

I was shopping yesterday and of course I bought some beauty related things. My goal for my trip was Make Up Store because I wanted to buy their Mixing Liquid. This is used together with eye shadows to make waterproof eyeliners. I also picked up the #102 eyeliner brush that is designed to be used with the mixing liquid. It has a very fine tip and is used to make fine lines.

I bought one eye shadow and it was a Cybershadow in the color Paradise, a very beautiful light shimmery green. I tried it together with the Mixing Liquid and it became a metallic light green eyeliner. Very beautiful but too light in color to use as a liner.

I don't own a proper brush cleanser and I have been planning to buy the MAC one. But every time I am at the MAC Counter I forget to buy it. I decided to try the Brush Cleanser from Make Up Store instead. I tried it on my MAC #239 brush and I think it didn't clean the brush properly. I could still see a hint of eye shadow color left on the brush when I was done.

I also went to KICKS a local beauty store and I saw that they had the Korres Lip Butters. I have been wanting these for ages since a first heard of them. I picked up a Lip Butter in the color Jasmine. It looks like a nice nude color in the jar. I tried it today and it feels moisturizing but I can't see much of the color on my lips. It is very sheer.

Where have I been?

I am definitely getting behind on my posting on this blog. I can only blame work and not getting enough sleep. The lack of sleep was caused by a mouse and my cat. There has been a mouse hiding in my house and during the last nights my cat has been chasing it, making a lot of noise. He finally caught it today and the mouse is now on the outside. I think the mouse survived these terrible nights and it is where it should be, in the wild not in my bedroom.

I will be back today or tomorrow with some posts. I am going in to town and will definitely be doing some shopping, and knowing me there will be some beauty shopping too.

LOTD: Make Up Store's Ski

The Ski Pot Gloss is one of my favorite lip products right now. I bought it a while ago and have used rather frequently since then. It looks a little bit scary in the pot but it applies very sheer.

I use a lip brush to apply the gloss and it gives the lips a hint of purple. It has a very pleasant fruity smell and doesn't taste bad. I will definitively buy more of these pot glosses.

The Body Shop turns 30 years

The Body Shop is celebrating 30 years and because of this they are bringing back 30 discontinued products. They are also giving you 30 % off on these products. Of course I fell for this and went in to town to check these products out. The little shopping demon came out in me and I wanted to buy everything I saw but I settled for three products.

I bought the Banana shampoo and conditioner. It smelled so good and I couldn't resist it. I have used it once since I bought it and my hair felt very soft and smelled absolutely wonderful.
I also bought the Carrot Moisture Cream for my face. I am running out of my Dramatically Different Moisturizer from Clinique and decided to try something new. I haven't used it yet but I can tell you right now, I am not fond of the smell of this one. It smells somewhat of carrots and the smell is kind of strong. I hope it won't linger on my skin, I don't want to go around smelling of carrots.

While in town I stopped by the MAC counter and bought a new concealer. I wanted something with good coverage and I ended up with the Studio Finish Concealer SPF 30 in NC20. I have tried ita couple of times and I like it so far. It covers acne really well and isn't to difficult to blend.

Christmas at LUSH

I was surfing the different LUSH websites trying to find out if LUSH have started to sell the limited edition products for Halloween. It seems like the American website is the only one that carries the products so far.
When I entered the British LUSH site i didn't find any Halloween products but instead they have the Christmas products on the site. Is it just me? But isn't it a bit early for Christmas products? It's only the beginning of October.

If you want to check out the products just click here.

A small update the Christmas products are out in the US too.

Angels on Bare Skin by LUSH

The British LUSH website describes Angels on Bare Skin as an "angelic medieval rose and lavender cleansing wash". It doesn't contain soap, instead ground almonds, glycerine and kaolin is used to cleanse the skin. It also contains lavender oil, rose absolute and chamomile oil and is recommended for normal to dry skin. For some strange reason the people at LUSH decided to put lavender flowers in it, why I don't know.

I was recommended this cleanser in the store when I was looking for a cleanser that doesn't irritate my skin and leaves it feeling dry after washing. I was told that I could use it daily but I think it is too harsh of an exfoliator for that. I recommend using it two to three times a week instead.

It is hard for me to write a review for this product because I sort of hate it and like it at the same time. The reason for my hatred is that it is so messy to use. It ends up everywhere, in the sink, in my hair, on my clothes, you name it and it's there. Also I don't like the smell but it may be caused by my dislike for the smell of lavender.

I do like the effect on my skin after I use it. After I have used it I put on my Dramatically Different Moisturizer from Clinique and go to bed ( Yes, I cleanse my skin at night before I go to sleep). When I wake up my skin is glowing and it feels soft to the touch. I am not sure that I can't get the same effect from a different exfoliator though.

Will I purchase this again? I honestly don't know. I like the effect of the cleanser but not the messiness. I think I would have to try a couple of different exfoliators and cleansers before I can answer this question. I will definitely revisit this review and let you know when I have an answer.

TRESemmé has arrived in Sweden

I was so excited when I saw boxes of TRESemmé products standing on the floor at my local grocery store. Finally a store that will carry the brand. But today when I saw the display I felt rather disappointed. There were very few products in the display, only three types of shampoo , two types of hairspray and two styling products. I know that the brand carries more products than that.

I only bought one product and it was the Heat Defence Smooth spray. I do use heat on my hair on a regular basis and I don't use any heat protection on my hair so I felt that this product might do some good.

One thing that irritates me is the size of the conditioner bottles. I can understand the 900 ml size shampoo bottles, but what am I going to do with 900 ml of conditioner?

A new love in my life.

A while ago I ordered some things from HQhair, a British online beauty and hair store. I received a generous amount of samples with my order. One of the samples was the "Shea Leave In" from Hamadi. I completely forgot about this sample until recently when I decided it was time to try something new on my unruly hair. I tried this sample and fell in love.

I don't use it all over the hair, instead I concentrate the product on the ends. This product gives my hair some definition and shine at the ends. The best thing is that I can't feel that there is a styling product in my hair, it feels completely natural.

The negative thing with this product is the price. It is very expensive, it costs £16.75 for 120 ml or £27.50 for 240 ml. In my opinion a little bit too much for a hair product.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

This is a new lipstick From Maybelline (at least it is here in Sweden). There are several shades divided into different shade categories such as Nudes, Pinks, Reds and Plums. According to Maybelline it is a creamy lip color with nourishing Honey Nectar. It also contains pure pigments that gives it a crispier color. For me though I cannot see a crispier color but it is definitely creamy.
I bought the lipstick in the shade "Amber Rose", a light shimmery pink. I have tried to swatch it for you by taking a picture of my lips with the lipstick on. I have to say that it feels very weird to stand in front of a window taking pictures of myself. If somebody saw me doing this they probably question my sanity.
