The Sakura Bath Bomb

I had a nice morning today and started the day with a bath. I tried the Sakura Bath Bomb from LUSH. This is a light pink bath bomb, decorated with blue sea salt. It has a nice scent of mimosa and jasmine. The scent isn't overpowering and strong but a nice floral scent. I think this is one of the more subtle bath bombs that LUSH has to offer, It doesn't color the water and it doesn't contain confetti, sparkles or other things. Some people might find this boring but I think it is a positive thing. I have tried the Honey Bee bath bomb and even though it smelled nice it turned me and the bath tub yellow.
This didn't color the water at all it just smelled heavenly and it was very relaxing. However I do prefer bubble baths over bath bombs since I like to be covered in bubbles.

So to the important question, will I purchase this bath bomb again? Yes, I think it is a little bit expensive, it costs 49 SEK or £3.10. But I like the smell and I would like to use it again, maybe together with a piece of a bubble bar or something.

Dupe Time!

The eye pencil, Green Metal from Make up store (MUS) is a good dupe for the Mystery Kohl Power Eye Pencil from MAC. There are some differences between the two pencils though. The Eye Pencil from MAC is a teal color and therefore a little bit more blue in color than the MUS pencil. It is creamier in consistency and is therefore shinier than the MUS eye pencil. There is also a difference in size, the MAC pencil is larger.

The Mystery Kohl Power Eye pencil from MAC was released in the Starflash collection last summer. I think it is limited edition and may be difficult to get a hold of. So if you didn't get a chance to buy it, the Green Metal eye pencil from MUS is a good alternative.

Retail Therapy

This day didn't start out great. I woke up with a headache and neck pains. So I wasn't in the best mood to begin with.
When I was trying to put on my contact lenses they just kept falling out of my eyes. I had to give up and waste a pair of contacts. If that wasn't enough I tried on a new lipstick with glitter in it. The glitter didn't stay on my lips but ended up all over the lower part of my face.

I decided it was the perfect day for some retail therapy. I ended up buying some beauty related things. I started out at the MAC counter and bought some things from the new collections.
I bought three eye shadows from the Love That Look collection:
  1. Grand Entrance
  2. Style Snob
  3. Smoke & Diamonds
I also bought the new Studio Moisture tint SPF 15 in the shade Light. I have been looking for a tinted moisturizer for some time and this seems to be perfect.

I have broken a finger nail quite far down on the nail so I am going to try to repair it. I bought a kit from Mavala called the "on the go repair kit" it contains a glue and something called a nail strengthening powder. It says it takes seconds to get a strong nail. I hope it works. I also got the Mavala Ridge filler for the nail to smoothen it out.
The last thing I bought was a shampoo from TommyGuns, called the Fig & Plum Shampoo. It is used for frizzy, chaotic and unruly hair. It smells great and I liked the bottle so I bought it.

My first post!

Hello and welcome to The Superficiality Blog. I started this blog so that I can share my interest in beauty and makeup with other people. I am not a trained makeup artist or professional just a girl with an interest in makeup, I am still learning about makeup and techniques.
I have been interested in makeup for as long as I can remember. During the last two years my interest has grown and so has my makeup collection.
I am looking for the perfect beauty and makeup products that keep what they promise. So in this blog I will write about beauty and do reviews. Keep in mind that I write about my own experiences and opinions and that I am not influenced by anybody. I will be honest about what I think.
