The Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine is a tinted lip butter with a neutral pink color. I bought this a while ago and the main reason was that I thought it would tone down my own lip color and make my lips more neutral in color. Sadly, this lip butter isn't pigmented enough to do that. It looks very pigmented in the jar but on my lips it gives more shine than color.
I have taken a picture with the lip butter applied on half of my lips (the left side) and it is very hard to see any difference in color. The main difference is that my lips look more plump and shiny.
This product is scented and it has a sort of toffee/cake scent to it. This did surprise me since the name of the lip Butter is Jasmine and it doesn't smell like Jasmine at all.
As far as moisturizing my lips it foes a good job. It applies very well and it doesn't feel sticky at all.
Overall grade: Good moisturizer for the lips but not memorable. I don't think I will buy this again but I will definitely use it up.
I bought this product with my own money and it is my own opinion.

On my eyes:KATE Reflect Mirror Eyes in GY-1
I decided today that it was time to try out the second KATE palette that I picked up when I was vacationing in Hong Kong. This palette is a little bit more neutral in color if you look past all the sparkle that these shadows contain. The GY-1 Palette contains three shadows; a highlight color that is gold/white, a lid color that is a beige/gold and an eyeliner color that is dark gray/silver. I have to admit that I am not as happy with this one as I was with the purple PU-1, Diamond Cut Eyes palette. The shadows are very sparkly and contain glitter that fall down on your cheeks during application. The two lightest colors were very hard to capture on camera but I managed to capture some of the glitter on the lid.
For this makeup I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base.
KATE Reflect Mirror Eyes GY-1, all three colors.
Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in 061 Jet Black.
Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara in 01 Black.

My new MAC Palettes.
I finally did it and depotted my eyeshadows from MAC. I have been thinking of doing this for a while and the thing that have stopped me in the past is the lack of palettes. I can't buy empty palettes where I live so this has been an obstacle for me. When I was in Hong Kong I found a MAC store that sold empty palettes and I picked up three. Hopefully these will last me for a while.
Here is the final result.
The limited shadows are marked with a LE and the collection that I bought them from. All eyeshadows are listed from left to right.
Palette 1: This palette contains my more neutral colors
Top Row: Pincurl (LE, Love Lace 2010), Suave intentions (LE, Love Lace 2010), Vibrant Grape (PRO, Style Warriors 2009)
Middle Row: Smoke & Diamonds (LE, Love That Look 2009), Love Lace (LE, Love Lace 2010)
Bottom Row: Parrot (LE, Originals 2007)

My perfume samples are here
My latest obsession is perfume as I have mentioned in my previous posts. This lead to me ordering some perfume samples from The Perfumed Court. This online store has a huge selection of perfume and some are more exclusive and hard to find. You can buy decants, as it is called in different sizes and the prize varies for a decant/sample depending on how exclusive the perfume is. Most of my samples cost around $3 for a 1 ml vial and the shipping cost was $7.95 for International Shipping for orders under $75.00. I think that paying $3 for 1ml is rather expensive but I guess that they have to make a profit from their sales so I don't think it is unreasonable. Ordering a sample is a great way to experience a perfume without buying the whole bottle. This way you can try out the perfume to see how it reacts to your skin without the large costs that comes with buying a bottle.
I ordered 10 samples and they arrived in three different packages. The Perfumed Court has three sellers so this is not uncommon. I have to say that I liked this store. The perfume descriptions are excellent, describing the different notes in the perfume and the website is easy to navigate.
I ordered my samples during Monday and I received my packages in the beginning of the week after. The first arrivedon Monday and the other two on Wednesday.
The samples that I ordered were:
Hermes Kelly Caleche EdT
Balmain Vent Vert Vintage EdT
Comme de Garçons Series 5 Sherbet-Rhubarb
CB I Hate Perfume Burning Leaves Water Perfume
CB I Hate Perfume Gathering Apples Water Perfume
L'Artisan Mimosa Pour Moi
L'Artsan Premier Figuer
Guerlain New York
Michel Kors Island
Escentric Molecules Molecule 01
I payed for the decants/samples with my own money and I am not affiliated with or influenced in anyway by the company. I am just a happy customer.

A little ramble about excercise and perfume...
I am a little proud of myself today because I bought a gym card for a year at my local gym. I have been putting it off for so long and finally today I decided to just do it. I thought it was best to go big and sign up for a whole year. Cheap as I am I can't stand when money goes to waste so this will be my motivation; go to the gym or you will not get the most out of your money.
When I came home from the gym I saw an envelope standing on the dresser in the hallway. The envelope was from The Perfumed Court and contained two of the samples I have ordered from them. The Perfumed Court has three sellers so the samples can arrive in up to three different packages. I have two more that awaits me and hopefully they will arrive during this week.
I was like a kid at Christmas when I opened the envelope and I tried on both perfumes at once, one on each arm. So today I am sporting Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 on my left arm and Comme de Garçons Series 5 Sherbet-Rhubard on my right arm. Both are unisex scents so am sort of smelling like man today, but I like it.
That's it for now. A little ramble on this sunny Monday. I am thinking that the sun and my new scents are making me very happy today.

A perfume review: Sunkissed Glow by J Lo
My latest obsession is perfume so I am going to start writing more about perfume and scents on this blog.
The first perfume to be reviewed is a Jennifer Lopez creation called Sunkissed Glow by J Lo. I am a completely lost when it comes to distinguishing between different notes and types of scents so this review is more what I like about the perfume and what I don't like.
Sunkissed Glow by J Lo is an Eau de Toilette and on the Jennifer Lopez Beauty site Sunkissed Glow is described as a "Fresh Fruity Floral" and "it will caress your skin like a tropical breeze on a steamy sun drenched beach".
I did have a hard time finding the perfume notes for this Eau de Toilette but I finally came across these ones at osMoz.com:
Top notes: Ruby Red Grapefruit, Pineapple Juice, Cassis Sorbet
Middle notes: Beach Flower, Orange Flower, Water Lily, Passion Flower
Base notes: Sheer Amber, Hot Sand, Cashmere Wood, Skin Musk
I have mixed emotions about this perfume. After I have first sprayed this I feel the fruits and the flowers mixed together and it is just too much for me. It is sweet and fruity but at the same time powdery from the floral notes. When the fruity top notes disappear Sunkissed Glow turns into a warm and powdery scent and it is at this stage I start to really enjoy this fragrance. It reminds me of its name Sunkissed and the scent is like your skin has been warmed up by a warm summer sun.
I don't feel that this is a tropical breeze though and I think it is because I associate the word tropical with coconut. I don't feel that the pineapple and grapefruit is enough and I would like to feel some coconut amongst the perfume notes to make this a tropical scent.
This isn't a very strong scent but a more close to your body kind of scent, which makes it very wearable. On me the top notes doesn't last very long but the base notes stay put during most of the day. For me this is a good thing since I am not too fond of the fruitiness.
To summarize this review:
If you want to buy a perfume that you can wear in the summer and that is fruity and tropical but you can't stand the scent of coconut this Eau de Toilette might be for you. I personally like a tropical perfume to have some coconut it it,and be a little suntan lotionesque, if that's a word.
I received this fragrance as a sample with a magazine that I bought and this is my own opinion.

On my eyes: KATE Diamond Cut Eyes PU-1
On my eyes today I used one of my new KATE palettes that I bought during my vacation in Hong Kong. This palette is called Diamond Cut Eyes and contains absolutely gorgeous purple eyeshadows and is simply called PU-1. The shadows in the palette are shimmery but not super glittery. The palette also contains two glittery shades that are called Shiny Gold and Shiny Silver. I don't know that they are supposed to do since I cannot read Japanese but I think that they should be applied on top of the eyeshadows to give them some sparkle. I didn't do this in this makeup, instead I dampened an eyeliner brush with FIX+ and applied the Shiny Silver on top of the lightest shade in the inner corner of the eye.
I used the following products today:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base.
KATE Diamond Cut Eyes Palette in PU-1. All three shades plus the Shiny Silver one.
MAC Fix+
Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in 061 Jet Black
Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara in Brun Glamour/Brown
Make Up Factory Eye Brow Styler in no. 3

oops I did it again
I picked up a new mascara a couple of days ago and I learned a little lesson in the process . I have totally fallen for the Falsies Volume Express Mascara commercial from Maybelline and decided to try a tube.
Well here´s the lesson I learned during my little shopping excursion, always read the color label on the mascara. Instead of buying the usual black color I picked up a brown. You can say I got a little surprise when I got home. This isn't the first time I have done this mistake and luckily this was a little mishap compared to this one. I have tried the mascara and I do like the brown color on my lashes. But I have learned my lesson and I will check the color on the tube before I get home.
